Along the Wild Side, American Camp

This is a favorite painting site along the Redoubt Road looking northeast towards Lopez Island. Little has changed for hundreds of years out here, as this is part of American Camp in the San Juan Island National Historic Park. Sweeping views that span 180 degrees offer a respite to artists, hikers and visitors. Bald Eagles, Crows, Ravens, deer and now Red Foxes inhabit "the wild side" and I always feel at peace, when I paint here. Love the atmospheric morning light!
