Mike Rust, artist 10 minute pose

After our Lopez Life drawing sessions at Port Stanley School, a few artists stayed another hour to draw portraits of each other with quick poses. More than any other discipline in art that  I've done over the past 50 years is to draw the human face or figure and limit the time spent. It has made it possible;e for me to do plein air landscapes on a much larger scale in under 2 hours and still catch the essence of light, shape, form, color, emotions and all the elements that make up a painting, without "overworking" it.
