Boats Cliffs Coastal Europe Village

The North Sea on a rare, calm sunny August day gives this charming village a benign look and feel. The stories here include villagers looting shipwrecked vessels (after luring same onto the rocks in stormy seas at night) in past centuries and Captain James Cooks' first job at a chandlery in 1745, age sixteen, before he too succombed to the lure of the high seas to begin his world wide expeditions.

Its a very special place to paint!
