Painted en plein air overlooking old Korcula City on a beautiful October morning during my Croatia workshop last fall. I awoke to this warm light just peaking over the distant mountains of the Orebic Peninsula. It was as though someone had turned-on a kaleidoscopic flashlight pointed straight across the Adriatic Sea.
I did several other paintings over there last fall, with various views of this fabled city on in Croatia. There's just something about the warm sunrise glow . . . this painting will be one of many from my European trips to be featured in my solo show at Art on the Boulevard Gallery, Vancouver, WA in June, 2023.
