About this work
My last day painting in Hawaii (February 1 2025) was spent adjacent to a 17' wide, x 10' high x 1000' long black lava stone wall (not in the painting) which was made sacred by ancient Hawaiians. It encompasses 182 acres along the beach in south Kona, Hawaii. Freely translated it is a "Place of Refuge" inside that huge stacked lava wall.
Stunning surf rolling across the black lava spewed from volcanic eruptions over centuries, echoes the rhythm of this place made sacred. A live spirit still lives here, like no other place in the Hawaiian Islands.
Framed price in 4 1/4" wide wood bronze colored molding with the world's finest artwork glazing: Optium Museum Acrylic $1400 (19x22 outside frame dimension).
