Old Kjargaard Barn

This old barn on the Kjargaard farm, Fisherman Bay Road, Lopez Island (now owned by Buffum Brothers Farms) has always had a rather stately demeanor and is now home to swallows that dart in and out of the openings. As evidenced by the stout garden posts in the forground, Otto Kjargaard was just that . . . and built things to last! Painted en plein air in mid afternoon in July.
