Painted from my reference drawings/photos done on-site at Staithes, August 2013. Love the steep terrain that creates sheltered "becks" from two brooks running into the north Sea. Captain Cook hung out here as a grocer and chandlery employee (age 16) before he became one of the world's most famous navigator and explorer.
