Virgin River Guardian

This is a favorite painting site about 2 miles upstream from Sinawava, along the Virgin River at Zion National Park. I loved how the shadows on the canyon wall framed this huge rock that probably sheared off its mooring on the cliffs above, perhaps millions or tens of thousands of year ago - who knows? The rock knows and now the river, too, as it clearly altered its sinuous course around this enormous chunk of stone.
