About this work
The Albrecht's Farm on Lopez Island in Morning Light.
This field has rock outcroppings that give a finite definition between tillable and wild land. The wind was coming off the straits hard enough to hang not my easel, the whole session - or risk a blow-down.
Those rocks catching the morning sun & echo the distant islands out there, which makes for a very interesting composition, shape and form - all of which excite me as a painter.
Even more, is this thing about time, which gets me thinking about my own mortality being tossed around among the trees in the wind. I zeroed in on that.
