Sentinels at Morro Estuary

Painted en plein air at Morro Bay Estuary, October 2012 during the San Luis Obispo Invitational painting event. The tide was just starting to rise, which floods most of the background area of this landscape. This was painted from a beautiful boardwalk that follows the back edge of this estuary. When I got home, I saw a U-Tube video of two water moccasins that had crawled onto the same boardwalk, just a few feet from where I set-up my easel to paint this. Glad they were "asleep' while I was there - or at least busy elsewhere.
