Metallic Sunrise II Narrows Canyon

Our hike up the Narrows Canyon gave me a new appreciation of Zion's rock formation and the formidable force of the river. The sun strikes the rock formations about mid-day and creates great color and reflections that I couldn't capture in the canyon plein air, my favorite way of painting. But I was so awestruck with the Canyon's majestic landscape I had to challenge myself to paint it in my studio.
