Little House on the Bay

Painted late afternoon, plein air on Lopez Island near Watmough Head, one of my favorite painting sites. This house is more than 100 years old and presides over one of the most beautiful marine areas on the island. Very private and wild, you feel that when you arrive. The afternoon sun was streaming through old growth trees, casting a breif, glowing light on the beach and mid-ground areas.
