American Beauty 2

The barns in my area all tell a story. I painted this barn while teaching a pastel  workshop using reference photos of a barn in Southern Oregon. I created a subtle shift in the shadows of the field in the forefront to give the eye a path though the painting, which helped to  highlight the barn.
